Hi My Friends! Thank you for visiting my website. I live in Florida. I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself. I was born in El Salvador, Central America, but I have lived in the United States for the last 30 years or so. I am an opinionated individual, with strong political views. Interestingly, my dad was the co-founder of ARENA, the Republican Party in El Salvador. This happened during the early 1980s – a very violent time in El Salvador. I have never met a more committed individual to a set of ideas and principles, as my dad. My grandfather was violently assassinated during a communist uprising in 1932. At the time, my dad was three months old, but the fact that he was raised without a dad, and saw the many difficulties his mom went through, left a life-lasting impression on him. Not only was he the brains behind an incredibly successful political party, but showed me what courage and conviction is all about. He did not do this for fame and glory – as a matter of fact he was approached on several occasions about pursuing a government office, and he decided not to pursue it – he did it for the country and his grandchildren, so they will have a better future. He succeeded.
I am married and have two children and a step-son. I have an MEd in education, so as you can imagine, I have worked as a teacher since 1986. I truly enjoyed teaching! Currently I work with our local school district creating and facilitating courses for teachers who are pursuing teacher certification. In addition, I work with the local virtual school program at the middle and high school level. Having said that, I have had the opportunity to work with great people – including co-workers and awesome kids.
Although I am a registered Republican, during the last few years, I have become completely disenchanted with the political party, the candidates, and their goals and ideas. I believe they are much to blame about our current economic chaos, but I also believe that the Democrats are yet to provide any real solutions. I believe that the Republican Party has no leadership. Instead, republicans seek leadership from Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, and the latest, Glen Beck. I don’t dislike them and as a matter of fact, I watch them from time to time and I have bought some of their books. I believe that sometimes they pray on the fears of Americans, and one of them in particular – Glen Beck – has forgotten his roots. Instead, I believe, Beck has turned into a writing book machine (he seems to have a book every three months or so). Instead of sharing his values, which were real at one point, he, in my opinion, is more concerned with indoctrinating people providing boring entertainment, and making a few million $$ selling books. Just give it a rest!
There are plenty of loonies on the left. What about that Janeane Garofalo? Does she make movies? How is that working out for her? What about Keith Olberman? Was he dropped as a child? That guy spends more time dealing with his anger issues with everyone on the right. Typical example of what is wrong with America’s news. Is not about the issues, is about the person on the other side of the issue. What about Minnesota’s senator? Al Franken, I think? He should stick to comedy. What is wrong with the people in Minnesota? Didn’t they elect Jesse Ventura? A former wrestler? Talk about an angry and complete idiot! The other day I saw him on Larry King bragging about Chavez. Really? Does this guy have a clue? What about Hollywood people? Oliver Stone comes to mind right away. Don’t get me started on him. He directed the movie Salvador – he wasn’t smart enough to learn how to spell the name of the country correctly – is El Salvador, you dummy. The movie is a complete fabrication and based on left-wing propaganda. Why do we let any of these people try to tell us how to live our life, who to support, where to spend our money, etc? They are no policy experts, they do not understand policy making and they do not represent most of us.
So, what should I do? Although most of my political ideas are conservative, I also have a few liberal ideas, especially when it comes to social issues. I think that working as a teacher, having a special needs child, watching government waste, and politicians’ willingness to say whatever is needed to get elected, has altered my political views. I consider myself a cynic and you better have something special to say if you want my vote.
I have decided to start this blog as a way to vent and as a way to share my ideas with others. I am tired of people who wrap themselves around the American flag or their constitutional rights to say what the want, however, they lack the knowledge of what this country is all about, so they can defend their ideas. Give me a break!
Last, I love this country. I believe it is the best place on earth to raise a family, to succeed, and to learn great values. I believe that radicals on both sides of the aisle find themselves compromising their values and principles so they can get elected. I would rather see an honest person, with real values, running for office, instead of someone who is willing to compromise his/her ideas for the sake of power.
